« Down with the kings, New masterpiece on earth »

 

En 2011 Mans1 remporte le concours d’improvisation End Of the Weak et devient le premier champion Suisse de la discipline. Il participe à la finale mondiale aux côtés de Junk (Canada), Kenyon (France), Tenchoo (Angleterre) et KayM (USA), qui remporta le titre mondial.

 

Au lendemain du MC challenge, encore imprégnés de l’énergie de la compétition et de l’euphorie de la victoire, KayM et Mans1 enregistrent d’un seul jet le titre : « The spotlight »,  sur une musique de Tayreeb.

 

Eté 2014, KayM et Mans1 se retrouvent lors de la finale américaine du concours de MC’s, au Pyramid Club de New-York,  lieu emblématique du rap New-Yorkais où le concours a débuté  dans les années 2000, et décident de tourner la vidéo du «  Spotlight ».

 

Le temps d’un coucher de soleil, la vidéo est réalisé  dans la ville de Union city, de l’autre côté de l’Hudson river, par OneLove du crew Session at the pm.

 

The Spotlight : Un morceau de rap international en deux langues, Hip-Hop par son énergie et son discourt  positif, porté par les flows de maitres de l’improvisation, place l’universalité du Hip-Hop et la portée internationale de la compétition End Of The Weak sous les projecteurs...

 

Le titre The Spotlight est issu de l’album  de Mans1 «  L’Esprit de la marge » qui regroupe les 9 morceaux enregistrés durant la compétition End of the Weak en 2011.

In 2011, Mans1 was crowned first ever swiss champion in the final of the "End of the Weak" improvisation competition. Then, he took part in the world final with opponents like Junk (Canada), Kenyon (France), Tenchoo (UK) and also KayM (USA), the final winner.

 

The following day, still feeling the energy of the competition - with KayM filled of euphoria after his victory -, they both recorded straight in one take the song "The Spotlight" on a musical track  composed by Tayreeb. 

 

Summer 2014 then, KayM and Mans1 met again during the US final of Mc's competition at New-York's Pyramid Club. In this legendary new-yorkish rap scene, where the competition actually was founded in the early 2000's, they decided to shoot their video-clip on "Spotlight".

In the glimpse of a sunset, they shot the video in Union City, on the other side of Hudson's river, with the great collaboration of OneLove from Session at the PM crew.

 

The Spotlight : A Rap international track in two languages, with a Hip-Hop positive lyrical energy, amazing flows from the Master of improvisation. Hip-Hop's universality and the impact of the End of the Weak competition both being exposed under the spotlights.

 

The title The Spotlight is taken from Mans1 "L'Esprit de la Marge" 9 tracks album, recorded during 2011's End of the Weak competition.
